What is Managing Miscellania?
Managing Miscellania is an ongoing activity that is unlocked with the completion of the quest Throne of Miscellania. You will be in charge of Miscellania: assigning the residents of the island to collect specific resources, which can then be collected.
The higher the player’s popularity with the citizens, and the more coins invested in the Coffers, the more resources will be acquired.
Because of the valuable resources obtained, Managing Miscellania is considered to be highly profitable and can make you a lot of OSRS GOLD Keeping the citizen approval ratings and daily salaries maxed out will allow for maximum profit.

Requirements When Managing Miscellania
The following quests MUST be completed :
- Throne of Miscellania
The following are RECOMMENDED because they will drastically increase your overall profits :
- Quest: Royal Trouble
- Achievement Diary: Fremennik Medium Tier
Now that we’ve got the Requirements necessary and we’re allowed to take part in the activity, let us move onto the basics.
What will you be doing in the Kingdom of Miscellania?
- Depositing Money in the Coffer
- Adjusting the investment of coins in the coffers (the salaries of the subjects)
- Checking Approval Rating
- Gaining Approval Rating
- Distributing the labor of the subjects
- Collect the resources the subjects have gathered
Depositing Money in the Coffer
Any investment of coins the player decides to make must be deposited into the coffers, which is then distributed to the workers each day until it runs out.
A maximum of 5,000,000 coins may be stored in the coffers initially, however, this maximum increases to 7,500,000 coins after the quest Royal Trouble has been completed.
Depositing money into the coffers, or withdrawing what’s currently in it, can be done at the upper left portion of the management map which can be opened by talking to Advisor Ghrim.
Adjusting the investment of coins in the coffers
The amount of resources collected in a day is determined by the citizen’s approval rating multiplied by the salary taken out of the coffers, which will always be 10%(Upto 75k) of the amount currently in the Coffers, for that particular day.
The collection of resources is calculated day by day based on the approval rating and amount of coins in the Coffers on that day, so keep daily approval and daily salaries at 100% for maximum rewards.
This would mean that at 100% daily approval you will be paying the citizens 75K daily.
Checking Approval Rating
The approval rating can be checked by talking to Advisor Ghrim or by utilizing the “Check-Approval” option various workers throughout the island have.
The Approval Rating ranges from 0% to 100% and will automatically fall every 24 hours by 2.5% OR 1% after completing Royal Trouble Quest.
Gaining Approval Rating
Players can increase their approval rating by helping the subjects of Miscellania (and also Etceteria after Royal Trouble) with various skilling tasks (see table below). Most of the tasks have a level requirement and may require the use of tools. The approval rating will only increase if the subject recognizes the player’s work by saying “Thanks!“.
Once the approval rating reaches 100%, the subjects will prevent the player from performing any more tasks.
The following are tasks that will increase your approval rating:
- Raking Weeds
- Mining Coal
- Chopping Maple Trees
- Fishing
- Composting a farming patch
- Watering a farming patch
Distributing the labor of the subjects
One can find that there are in total 10 Subjects (15 after Royal Trouble) that can be allocated. The interface to manage this can be brought up by talking to Advisor Ghrim.
There are four possible ways to distribute labor:
- Herbs (the player can choose between herbs or flax via the radio buttons)
- Wood
- Mining
- Fishing (the player can choose between uncooked or cooked fish via the radio button)
After Royal Trouble, the player can distribute labor to two additional fields:
- Hardwood (the player can choose between mahogany, teak, or both via the radio buttons)
- Farm
The bars denote how much labor is being expended on each resource type. The arrows are used to adjust this labor. All unused labor will be shown in the Idle bar at the lower left of the map. It is essential to use all the subjects available and to never have any of them Idle at any time.
Collecting the resources the subjects have gathered
Players can collect their obtained resources by talking to Advisor Ghrim.
Resources will be directly deposited into the player’s bank, assuming there’s sufficient room to do so, within the last tab the player viewed. If players receive seeds that are present in the seed vault, they will automatically be transferred to the vault rather than the player’s bank.
