Hespori/Strategies Guide – OSRS

Hespori can be periodically killed in the Farming Guild, grown from a hespori seed.

Typically, a melee slash weapon is used to kill Hespori.

Requirements

  • Level Farming 65
  • One seed for each kill

Suggested skills

  • Attack 60+
  • Strength 60+
  • Hitpoints 60+

Mechanics

The Hespori is surrounded by four flower buds that keep it invulnerable while it attacks the player. These buds open three times during the fight, on initiation of the fight and again when the Hespori has 66% and 33% health remaining. Each bud has 10 hitpoints but will die in one hit from any weapon.

The Hespori has a ranged attack, a magic attack and a special attack:

Ranged Attack:

Throws green spores that hit twice with a max hit of 8+8 (reduced to 2+2 with Protect from Missiles).

Magic Attack:

A green wave with a max hit of 14 (reduced to 3 with Protect from Magic).

Special Attack:

Hespori entangles you in some vines! will appear in the chatbox when the Hespori uses this special attack, with roots immobilizing the player preventing movement and attacks. After 6 seconds (10 ticks) the player will take 40+ damage unless they break free early by clicking repeatedly on either a new tile or the Hespori, or by using a Transformation Ring. As you click You feel the vines loosen slightly as you try to move. will appear in the chatbox and after the 5th such message, clicking again will prevent the special attack and allow the player to move and attack again.

Equipment

Hespori can easily be tackled with low cost equipment. Use knives, darts or a powered stave to attack the flowers that hespori spawns at 100%, 66% and 33% health, and use special attacks such as a Dragon dagger where possible to speed up the fight. At lower levels you will encounter Hespori’s immobilizing special attack at least once per fight, and it is important to click away repeatedly or risk taking a large amount of damage at once.

Thralls and death charge for the flowers can be used for additional damage and access to an extra special attack or two during the fight.

  • Knives or darts to quickly kill flowers
  • Rune pouch and Book of the dead to use Thralls

With high combat stats and good equipment, little to no food or prayer restore will be needed when fighting hespori. Unless entering the fight at 95 special attack energy, death charge will also not always offer an additional special attack at faster kill speeds, as it cannot be used until Hespori is at 66% hitpoints.

Due to Hespori’s elemental weakness to fire spells, maging Hespori is viable, especially at lower levels and with access to gear that boosts elemental spell damage, such as the Harmonised nightmare staff, Twinflame staff, and Smoke battlestaff or Tome of fire. However, meleeing Hespori provides access to thralls and better special attack weapons, and will typically be cheaper especially if using Sunfire runes or pages.
