Ironman Guide/Agility – OSRS

Agility training on an ironman is not very different from training it on a regular account. A variety of agility courses can be used, with the majority of them requiring little to no inventory or equipment considerations. As a skill, Agility is very useful to train for its passive energy restoration effect, which speeds up many training methods, quest completion, and travel around the world in general. Agility also provides access to the graceful outfit, one of the best all-around equipment sets for almost any non-combat situation. Because Agility has very few inventory requirements to train, it is a good skill to train in tandem with other skills that use the inventory space, such as Magic or Fletching.

Ultimate Ironmen may find it difficult to fully take advantage of the Hallowed Sepulchre, though given how important the Ring of endurance is to run energy management it is recommended to always loot the Grand Hallowed Coffin.

Early training: Quests

Because early Agility training courses are particularly slow, it is recommended to use Quest experience rewards to skip many of the early levels. Completing the following three quests gives enough experience to get level 32 Agility, at which point training can be started at the Varrock Rooftop Course.

Quest Experience reward Agility requirement Other requirements Enemy to defeat Safespottable
Recruitment Drive 1000 Quest points 12 Sir Leye (level 20) No
The Tourist Trap 4650 Twice Fletching 10Smithing 20 Mercenary Captain (level 47) Yes – By using another npc
Death on the Isle 7500 Agility 32 Thieving 34
The Grand Tree 7900 Agility 25 Black Demon (level 172) Yes

It should be noted that The Tourist Trap gives a choice of either Agility Agility, Fletching Fletching, Smithing Smithing, or Thieving Thieving, but choosing agility is highly recommended as it is the slowest to level at this stage by far.

Levels 1–72/99: Rooftop Agility Courses

A player training on the Seers’ Village Rooftop Course.

The primary method of training Agility is through Rooftop Agility Courses, which can be started as low as level 1 Agility. These courses require no inventory space or resources to use, can be done in almost any gear, and provide marks of grace for the graceful outfit and amylase crystals.

The Seers’ Village Rooftop Course, Pollnivneach Rooftop Course, and Rellekka Rooftop Courses all receive a boost in experience and Marks of grace from their respective hard tier of Achievement Diaries.

Because of the lack of inventory requirements, Agility is an excellent skill to train in conjunction with other skills that require significant inventory space. Magic training with High Alchemy can be done with just a few inventory spaces, and alching between course obstacles does not negatively impact the Agility experience rates. The same can be done with Fletching by adding feathers to dart tips in between obstacles.

Levels 72–99: Hallowed Sepulchre

The Hallowed Sepulchre offers the fastest experience from level 72 onwards. This method is more difficult compared to other training methods, and it requires good concentration and timing. Even though the activity becomes available at level 52, players are advised to use other methods up to level 72, as they are a lot easier and players are more likely to get faster experience using those methods.

Players must have completed Sins of the Father to access this course.

With good performance, players can gain up to around 62,000 experience per hour at level 72, increasing to around 69,000 experience per hour at level 82 and 85,000 experience per hour at level 92. Below level 72, players can gain up to 39,000 experience per hour at level 52 and 52,000 experience per hour at level 62.

Sourcing materials to loot Hallowed coffins

Vampyre dust to sacrifice on the Saradomin Braziers can be collected quickly by killing Feral Vampyres, either west of Burgh de Rott (quickly accessible via Morytania legs 3 or 4), or in the Haunted Woods (quickly accesible via Ectophial or fairy ring code ALQ). Vyrewatch sentinels in Darkmeyer (quickly accesible via Drakan’s medallion) can also be killed for slower rates of dust, but potentially better loot.

Planks and steel nails for repairing broken bridges can be obtained from any sawmill, with faster rates of normal log acquisition possible with any Kandarin headgear.

Cosmic runes for enchanting portal frames can be purchased from Ali’s Discount Wares, Amlodd’s Magical Supplies, or Lundail’s Arena-side Rune Shop.

Levels 30+: Agility Pyramid

A player training on the Agility Pyramid.

At a relatively low level, players can access the Agility Pyramid as a reliable source of early income. Before reaching higher levels the failure rate may slow progress, but each completion of the pyramid awards a Pyramid top worth 10,000 coins when traded to Simon Templeton. Roughly 13 completions can be made per hour at early levels ,(30-50), for 130,000 gp/hour and 25,000 experience per hour. Upwards of 26 completions per hour can be made at higher levels, (70-99), for 260,000 gp/hour and 44,000 experience per hour.

Levels 50-75: Colossal Wyrm Agility Course

A player navigating the Colossal Wyrm Agility Course.

The Colossal Wyrm Agility Course offers a way less click-intensive way to train Agility at level 50. The course notably contains longer obstacles that cannot be failed and gives passive prayer experience in the form of blessed bone shards. The basic course unlocked at level 50 can give upwards of 31,181 experience per hour, while the advanced course unlocked at level 62 can give upwards of 42,834 experience per hour.

Upwards of 340 blessed bone shards can be earned per hour which translate to an additional 1,700-2,040 Prayer experience per hour when offered to the libation bowl at the Teomat.

Levels 75–99: Prifddinas Agility Course

A player training on the Prifddinas Agility Course.

The Prifddinas Agility Course offers a less click-intensive training option from level 75 onwards. Players must have completed Song of the Elves to access this course. Instead of marks of grace, players can find crystal shards by using portals that randomly appear around the course, which act as shortcuts. These portal shortcuts are unique to each player, and grant the player a crystal shard.

Players can gain up to around 59,000 experience per hour at level 75, increasing to around 66,000 experience per hour from level 90 onwards. Players can also expect to find roughly 45 crystal shards per hour. This course can also be combined with lunar spells like plank make or spin flax.

Passive training: Barbarian Fishing

Training Fishing with Barbarian Fishing gives small amounts of passive Agility and Strength experience. For every 100,000 Fishing experience gained through Barbarian Fishing, the player should expect about 9,000 Agility experience as well. This means that if the player trains Fishing to level 99 exclusively through Barbarian Fishing, they would get to at least 74 Agility.
